Vacancy for a Live-In Host
Sister Eveleen Retreat House (SERH) is perched on the hill overlooking Sumner Beach. It is a place steeped in prayer and offering opportunities in contemplative Christian spiritual practice. The house accepts guests all year around, runs regular retreats, and hosts a wide range of Christian groups.
We have a vacancy for a Live-in Retreat House Host (RHH), paid 10 hours a week, accommodation provided. The RHH works with the Director to provide a hospitable welcome to guests and a presence at the house when the Director has left for the day.
Interested??
We’re looking for someone who is a Christian, someone who is comfortable welcoming strangers; someone who discerns when to chat and when to be silent; someone who has a heart for the contemplative expression of faith as a way for God to be closely present; someone who is mature and responsible. This might be more than just a role; it could be a calling for someone who feels drawn to a ministry of hospitality and contemplative service.
