Walking the Contemplative Path: 2-Day Silent Retreat

Join SERH director Eddie O'Connor and spiritual director Alumine Andrew for a weekend retreat introducing the contemplative path of Christianity. The weekend will be held in full silence and follow a regular rhythm of contemplative prayer, teaching, and shared meals. This retreat is perfect for people looking to fully immerse themselves in the contemplative experience and develop a practice they can integrate into their daily lives. 

When:  Friday, June 16, 7 pm - Sunday, June 18, 2 pm.

Cost: $240 (if you'd like to come but the cost is prohibitive, please get in touch as we may be able to bring the cost down for you).

About the Facilitators:

Eddie O'Connor is the Director of Sister Eveleen Retreat House. He has been in his role for three years and facilitated or contributed to nearly 30 retreats during that time. Eddie is a Spiritual Director in the tradition of St Ignatius. His passion is reimagining the monastic and ancient practices of Christian spirituality in a way modern people can connect with. When Eddie is not running retreats he can usually be found writing, and is currently working on an adaptation of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius.

Aluminé Andrew has been interested in the contemplative life for many years, and how we can be modern contemplatives! Based in Sumner for the last 20 years, she has led retreats and is a Spiritual Director. Her passion is to engage in all forms of prayer and meditation, learning and encouraging others to try out different ways to pray, and connect with God. Alumine is a photographer, pursues slow textile arts, is an avid reader and has a book review blog. Creativity is really important in her life, from cooking a meal right through to spinning wool or climbing a mountain
